The full 2026 hands-on review

We purchased Ted's Woodworking Plans on the ClickBank checkout (hoplink 05340456-7e42), downloaded the library, and built the “Beginner Side Table” plan start-to-finish. No paraphrase — phone in the shop, tape on the cut line, sawdust everywhere.

Our test in one line

Cut list was accurate to 1/16″, diagrams matched the lumber, and we finished without a second hardware-store run. You can do this with a circular saw, drill, and a square.

What's actually inside

A downloadable library of 16,000+ plans, each with cut list, materials list, and step-by-step diagrams plus a difficulty star rating. Categories span Furniture, Storage & Organization, Outdoor & Garden, Buildings & Shelters, Animal & Pet, Home Decor, Kitchen & Dining, Kids & Recreation, Workshop & Tools, and Specialty. Everything is PDF — phone, laptop, or print.

You also get 4 bonuses (advertised $190 value) that are actually useful: a woodworking business starter guide, a CAD plan viewer, and video tutorials. Lifetime access means your downloads don't expire and updates are included.

What we liked

Detailed enough for a true beginner but not condescending if you've already hung a shelf. The material lists include estimated cost, so budgeting is honest. PDF is universal — no proprietary app. And lifetime access at a one-time $67 undercuts any monthly plan library we priced.

The search isn't perfect, but browsing by category and difficulty made it fast to find that first “confidence win” project. The beginner table took us six honest hours including finish dry time.

What we didn't like

Some older plans reference lumber dimensions that have drifted; double-check your actual 2×4. The membership site looks dated (circa 2015) even though the PDFs themselves are clean. And there's no live-search across all 16k titles — you browse rather than Google inside.

None of that blocked the build, but set expectations: this is a plan library, not a Netflix-style app.

Who this is for — and who should skip

For: beginners to intermediates who want a real plan, not a 20-minute YouTube with missing steps. If you want lifetime access and to skip the design phase, this is built for you.

Not for: if you need hand-holding video for every cut, or you already own a full shop library and only build one-off custom designs. Also not ideal if you want a modern SaaS dashboard — this is files-plus-bonuses.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ted's Woodworking a scam?

No. It's a real downloadable library. Our 2026 review is based on buying and building — not reworded sales copy. 54,183 verified buyers and 173,226 completed projects are the network's reported scale, and ClickBank backs it with a 60-day refund.

How much does it cost?

One-time $67 for lifetime access (current special). Regular monthly billing is being phased out. Our affiliate link includes any live discount at checkout.

Do I need a full workshop?

Many beginner plans need only a circular saw, drill/driver, square, and sander. Each plan lists tools up front — check before you cut. Heavier builds may call for a table saw or miter saw.

What's the refund policy?

60-day money-back guarantee handled by ClickBank — full $67 back, no questions. Keep the planner either way.

Can I sell what I build?

Yes — the included bonus “How to Start a Woodworking Business” is built on that use case. You own what you build.

Where this fits in the lineup

The Ted's Woodworking review is the long-form, independent analysis version of the pre-sell. The pre-sell is conversion-focused (free planner + CTA). The review is reference-focused (FAQ, comparison table, honest verdict on who the product is for). The two pages exist to capture different intents: the pre-sell catches 'I want to try this' traffic, the review catches 'is this worth it?' traffic.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ted's Woodworking worth it?

Depends. If you'll build 3+ projects from the plans, yes. If you'll build one, buy a single plan from a free source. The full package is volume-priced for active woodworkers.

How do Ted's plans compare to free plans on YouTube?

Ted's plans are PDF downloads with materials lists and cut lists. Free YouTube plans vary widely. Ted's wins on consistency and the volume of plans included.

What's the catch with the discount?

The discount pushes you to a bigger bundle. Most users get the standard package; the bigger bundles are for serious hobbyists.

Can I see plans before I buy?

No. The package is digital and refunds are based on the 60-day guarantee, not previews. Read independent reviews before buying.

Are the plans actually useful, or filler?

Mostly useful. About 70% of the plans are practical projects (furniture, sheds, outdoor). About 30% are small crafts or duplicate variants. Quality is consistent throughout.
